We developed an online portal to enable participants to read new product information, voice their opinions about the brand, share ideas about new and existing products and actually receive prizes and credit for doing so. We called this the Sharp Ambassador Program. Users earned points for sharing observations about the products in stores as well as for sharing ideas. The popularity of the ideas within the community earned the users points, which would lead to prizes. Points and popularity depended on proprietary programming mixed with human review.
